Library Hours and Holidays

The public service desks and reading rooms in Sacramento are open Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.

The Sutro Library in San Francisco is open Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm. As of July 1, 2009, Saturday hours have been discontinued. In July of 2009, the Sutro Library will be closed on the second, third, and fourth Fridays. Beginning on August 1, 2009, and continuing until further notice, the Sutro Library will be closed on the first, second, and third Fridays of each month. The library is closed on State holidays.

(2009 state holidays: Jan. 1 and 19; Feb. 12 and 16; Mar. 31; May 25; July 4; Sept. 7; Oct. 12; Nov. 11, 26 and 27; Dec. 25)
