How to find the California State Library

The California State Library’s headquarters are in Sacramento.

The California State Library's bay area branch, the Sutro Library, is in San Francisco.



California State Library Headquarters

The California State Library is housed in two buildings in Sacramento:

Stanley Mosk Library and Courts Building at 914 Capitol Mall(9th street and Capitol Mall).

The Sutro Library, the San Francisco branch of the California State Library, is located at 480 Winston Drive behind the Stonestown Galleria mall, just north of the San Francisco State University campus on the western edge of San Francisco.
