The California History Section holds a premier collection of documents from and about California's rich history. Our vaults house thousands of rare books, maps, newspapers, and periodicals in addition to a huge collection of one-of-a-kind photographs, letters, paintings, posters, pamphlets, and sheet music. Regardless of whether you're a serious researcher, a fourth grader or an average person visiting Sacramento, we'll have a resource for you!

Remarks made at Governor Deukmejian's funeral, June 9, 2018 by George Deukmejian, Jr., Steven Merksamer, and Robert Foster.

Happy Father’s day! Celebrate June by visiting the library and viewing one of our newly processed manuscript collections, taking a peak at our periodical and county of the month or enjoying our latest research guides! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
