Welcome to California State Library

Library Services and Technology Act

The Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) is a federal grant program administered in California by the State Librarian. Each year the State Librarian awards grants on a competitive basis unless announced otherwise. For planning purposes, successful projects begin on July 1 of each federally specified grant year and conclude on June 30 of the following year, unless the starting and ending dates of the grant period are adjusted by the State Librarian. These dates are announced annually when application materials become available.
