Use the California State Library’s interactive tool to search for Executive Orders and Proclamations from every governor since California became a state in 1850 through 2007. In the coming months, we will be adding additional Executive Orders and Proclamations from 2008 to the present time. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please Ask a Librarian for assistance.

The signed originals of all Executive Orders and Proclamations are housed at the California State Archives, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State. The California State Archives is located at 1020 O Street in Sacramento.
