Intent to Apply: Shared Vision/Bringing the Library to You Grants

Early Learning, Out-of-School Time, Mobile Libraries

The 2019–20 California state budget contains $8 million in grants to public libraries: $5 million to implement early learning and out-of-school programs and $3 million to support mobile library solutions.

Grant awards in each category will generally range from $25,000 to $250,000, and a jurisdiction may submit a request in each category. (Jurisdictions with 30-60 outlets may submit up to two applications per category; jurisdictions with 61 or more outlets may submit up to three per category.) For more information, see our Shared Vision page.

This form indicates your library's interest in applying for the Shared Vision/Bringing the Library to You grant opportunities. It does not commit your library to completing an application, nor does it commit your library to a specific amount per application. Instead, it is intended to help the State Library gauge interest and plan how best to meet libraries' needs for training and resources.

Include information about all proposed applications. Large jurisdictions interested in more than one application per category may use the comment boxes to discuss. You may edit your responses; the survey does not need to be completed in a single session. This form is due no later than February 11, 2020, at 11:59 p.m.
