UC Center Sacramento is a systemwide program of the University of California dedicated to preparing California’s future leaders and sharing knowledge to support public policy.

UCR School of Public Policy

The mission of the UCR School of Public Policy is to train a new generation of forward-thinking public policy leaders equipped to address the complex, interrelated challenges of poverty, disease, illiteracy, climate change, energy security, pollution and more. Their training will be informed by (i) a diverse, interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes evidence-based policy research as well as cross-learning from both international and domestic problem-solving experiences, and (ii) a rich internship program that emphasizes experiential learning.

UCR Science to Policy

The mission of the UCR Science to Policy program is to train graduate students to be active and trusted members of the public policy community through the use of sharing research and analytical skills developed in their respective fields. We provide early-career scientists with hands-on training and a platform to practice the skills necessary to navigate and engage in the policy world as scientists, communicators, legislative advisors, and/or science advocates. We strive to empower UCR graduate students to participate in science policy by providing a suite of experiences and opportunities to learn from and engage with public policy experts before they graduate to encourage the development of science policy as a career path.

UCSF IMPACT Program

The Impacting Policy by Accelerating Translation (IMPACT) Program aims to influence real-world decision-makers to use data and science to inform their work. IMPACT provides UCSF faculty and staff with resources and training in collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders to quicken the adoption of evidence-informed policies in healthcare, government, Industry, and other sectors.
