Submit your publication
The Library Distribution Act (Government Code 14900 – 14912) established the depository library program in 1945 to make California state documents readily available to the citizens of the state. The California State Library collects publications of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, commissions, public authorities, and other agencies of state government and makes them available to the public. The act includes all publications produced for the public, including reports, leaflets, memoranda, and magazines. It does not include documents for staff use.
California state government agencies may submit electronic publications for the California State Library’s collections using the form below. Complete the required fields for each state document submitted. If your agency has produced data that corresponds to your submitted document, please consider submitting it to data.ca.gov or another data repository. Please note that only documents in Word or PDF formats may be submitted using this form. If you need to submit documents in other formats, please contact the Government Publications Section by telephone at 916-323-9845 or by e-mail at cslgps@library.ca.gov.
